Moscone Center is three connected buildings on Howard Street in SoMa. North and South sit under Yerba Buena Gardens between Third and Fourth, and West stands above ground at the corner of Fourth and Howard. The halls connect below and across the street, which means a delegate can walk between them without going outside, and it also means the address on the badge tells you very little about which door your car should use.
During Dreamforce, RSA Conference and the healthcare investor week in January, the district absorbs tens of thousands of visitors at once. Every SoMa hotel is full, Howard Street carries constant traffic in both directions, and the curb space in front of the halls turns over in seconds rather than minutes. On-demand pickup degrades in exactly these hours, because the app is trying to solve a matching problem at the moment when tens of thousands of people are asking it the same question from the same block.

Moscone South
The main Howard Street frontage between Third and Fourth, and the address most badges print. Exhibit halls sit below grade, so the walk from the floor to the street is up rather than across. The car sets down on the Howard side closest to your hall entrance.
Moscone North
Connected to South beneath Howard and reached through the same frontage or from the Yerba Buena Gardens side. Delegates leaving North often surface a full block from where they entered, which is the detail the confirmation settles before the day starts.
Moscone West
The glass building at Fourth and Howard, above ground and served at its own corner rather than from the main frontage. Breakout sessions and developer tracks run here. Pickup is set at the Fourth Street side, clear of the Howard Street through traffic.
The SoMa Hotel Cluster
Most delegates sleep within a few blocks of the hall, around Third, Fourth, Mission and Market. Those runs are a few blocks. The car covers them so a roller bag is not part of the walk at seven in the morning. The car covers every one of them.
