What to expect
Your chauffeur is there before the pickup time, in a black suit and tie, and loads your luggage while you settle in. A text beforehand tells you who is coming and which car to look for.
The drive to the mountains is a long one, and the cabin is ready for it: bottled water, phone chargers and Wi-Fi, with tinted privacy windows. Work, sleep or simply watch the road go by.
We do not quote a journey time, because it depends on traffic on the day. Leave when it suits you: we drive 24/7.
At the lake, your chauffeur brings the car to your door and unloads every bag before leaving you to your stay.
Where the trip can start
The pickup can be a front door in San Francisco or anywhere else we drive: the Peninsula, Silicon Valley, the East Bay, Marin County, Napa and Sonoma. A hotel lobby or an office works just as well.
Hosting friends or colleagues at the lake? Book their ride in your name and add each traveler's mobile number. The text naming the chauffeur goes to them, and the receipt comes to you by email.
Planning the trip
Outside winter, luggage decides the vehicle: a sedan takes 2–3 bags, an SUV 5–6 and the Sprinter 10 or more, so tell us how many bags are coming and choose the class that holds them. In winter, Lake Tahoe trips are by SUV only, with room for up to 6 passengers and 5–6 bags in each.
The departure time is yours to set. Online booking needs at least 2 hours' notice, and the phone is answered from 7am to 9pm if you would rather talk the trip through with us.
Want a stop on the way? Ask for it when you book; a stop may change the quote. The trip can be one-way or a return, and a return is quoted together with the drive up.
If plans change, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup (48 hours for the Sprinter); after that, our Terms apply.
Leaving the driving to us
With a chauffeur, nobody in your party spends the trip behind the wheel, and there is no car to park once you arrive. Everyone can talk, read or sleep from the first street to the last.
Groups and team trips
Outside winter, a family gathering or a team offsite at the lake can travel together in the Sprinter, with captain's chairs or lounge seating, screens and a sound system for up to 14. For a bigger party, more vehicles can join the same booking, each with its own chauffeur and the same all-inclusive pricing.
Companies can arrange the trip through a corporate account, with a dedicated account contact and priority booking for your team.
Starting at the airport
Flying in on your way to the lake? Your chauffeur can meet the plane at SFO, Oakland or San Jose and set off for Tahoe from the terminal. Give us the flight number and we follow it; 45 minutes of free waiting start at landing, whether you meet at the curb or at baggage claim with a name sign (a meet-and-greet fee shows in your quote).
With meet-and-greet, your chauffeur takes the bags from the carousel to the car, so you walk out with your hands free.
Your chauffeur
Every BlackWingz chauffeur is background-checked, drug-tested and DMV-checked, then trained on our service standards. On a long drive, that care shows in the small things: bags handled for you, an immaculate car and your conversations kept private. Read more about BlackWingz.
