Long-distance car service from the Bay Area
When the trip goes beyond the Bay Area, one chauffeur drives you the whole way, door to door. Lake Tahoe, Reno, Sacramento, Monterey and Carmel, and Los Angeles are all within reach, with a single all-inclusive quote before you go.
What's included
A long-distance quote is all-inclusive, so you see the whole cost of the drive before you confirm.
- A chauffeur in a black suit and tie, background-checked, drug-tested and trained on our service standards
- The 15% gratuity, tolls, parking and any airport fees, counted in the quote
- Your bags loaded at pickup and unloaded on arrival
- Bottled water, phone chargers, Wi-Fi and tinted privacy windows in every class
- A receipt by email when the trip is done
A further tip at the end of a long day on the road is up to you; the 15% is already taken care of.
How it works
Tell us the pickup address, the destination, the date and the time you would like to leave.
Choose a sedan, an SUV or the Sprinter, and see the full price before you confirm.
Before pickup, a text names your chauffeur and gives you their number and the car to look for.
Your chauffeur loads the luggage, drives you to the address at the other end and unloads it there.
On the road
Rides run 24/7, so the departure time is yours to choose, whether that means leaving before dawn or after a late dinner. The same chauffeur stays with you from pickup to drop-off.
Stops along the way are possible: ask for them when you book, since they may change the quote. Each trip can be one-way or a return; for a return, we quote both drives together.
Inside, the time is yours to work, take calls or rest, and discretion is part of every ride, however long it runs. Behind tinted glass, the back seat stays a private space for the whole trip.
Vehicles for long trips
Pick the class by the number of travelers and the luggage coming with you.
- Sedans (Mercedes E-Class, Mercedes S-Class or the Maybach): 2 passengers, a 3rd in the front seat, and 2–3 bags
- SUVs (Chevrolet Suburban or Cadillac Escalade): up to 6 passengers and 5–6 bags
- Luxury Sprinter (Mercedes Sprinter): up to 14 passengers and 10 or more bags
A bigger party can book several vehicles for the same trip. For Lake Tahoe in winter, we drive by SUV only. Every class, side by side, is on our fleet page.
Weddings and gatherings farther away
A wedding party bound for Carmel, or a family heading to a reunion farther afield, can travel as one group. The Sprinter seats up to 14 in captain's chairs or lounge seating, with screens, ambient lighting and a sound system for the hours on the road.
For an event at the other end, the same rules apply as at home: there are no separate terms for weddings or celebrations, and one quote covers the drive. See event transportation.
Where we go
From any address in the Bay Area, we drive to these destinations:
- Lake Tahoe, on the California side or the Nevada side, with South Lake Tahoe, Truckee and Incline Village among the towns
- Reno, in Nevada
- Sacramento, the city or Sacramento International Airport (SMF)
- Monterey and Carmel, south along the coast
- Los Angeles
Each one is quoted the same way: one price for the whole drive, set before you book.
Starting at the airport
Landing at SFO, Oakland or San Jose and heading straight on? Your chauffeur meets the flight, and the long drive begins at the terminal. Share the flight number when you book, and we follow your flight.
You choose where to meet: at the arrivals curb after a call or text, or inside at baggage claim with a name sign, which adds a fee shown in your quote. Free waiting runs for 45 minutes from landing, so there is time to collect your bags.
Booking for a guest or a colleague
Arranging the trip for someone else? Add the traveler's name and mobile number to the booking, and the text with the chauffeur's details reaches them directly. The receipt arrives by email after the trip, ready for your records.
Companies that book often can open a corporate account by phone or email, with a dedicated account contact and priority booking.
Long-distance questions
Do you drive to the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe and to Reno?
Yes. Both are among our long-distance destinations, along with the California side of the lake.
How is a long-distance trip priced?
Each trip has its own quote, built for the route and the vehicle you choose. It already includes the 15% gratuity, tolls and parking, so there is nothing to settle on arrival.
How far ahead should I book a long trip?
Online booking needs at least 2 hours' notice and is open at any hour. Leaving sooner than that depends on whether a car is available: call (415) 881-6199, answered from 7am to 9pm.
Which vehicle suits a long trip with plenty of luggage?
For up to 6 people, an SUV takes 5–6 bags. A larger group, or more luggage, fits the Sprinter, with room for 10 or more.
What if we need to cancel?
Cancellation is free until 24 hours before pickup, or 48 hours for a Sprinter booking. The full rules are in our Terms.
